“Working with The American Service Dog Foundation has been the most AMAZING thing that has happened to me. For years I have struggled with my mental disabilities and how to handle things like remembering my medicine, calming down my anxiety, and even leaving my home. I knew I needed a service dog but also knew being low income and unable to work that I couldn't afford to purchase one. But God and The American Service Dog Foundation had my back and showed up at the right time. The application was so simple, and I still remember crying tears of joy when I was picked to receive my dog Buddy. Buddy has been so incredible. My dog makes sure I take my medicine three times a day by jumping on me when the alarm goes off and sitting in my face until I take it. In public, he acts as a barrier between me and others and lays across me during anxiety attacks to help calm me. He sticks to me like glue all day, every day—so much so that my husband calls him my shadow. I love it and him. His training was incredible, and everyone at the facility was so helpful and so amazingly kind to my entire family. They made accommodations for me to train with Buddy because I lived hours away, which was so nice to do. I thank and appreciate The American Service Dog Foundation for helping me receive the very thing I needed to continue this life healthy and continue to be the best wife and mother I can be. Buddy is amazing. and because of your foundation I have less symptoms of my disability everyday. Thank you."
